Central building Saarland University of Technology and Economics, Saarbrücken

The construction of the central building of the HTW in Saarbrücken is defined by the interaction between public space, higher education and the outdoor facilities. The interweaving of the different areas created by visual relationships to other floors and the exterior - by the vertical arrangement of functional units and one of the city highway borrowed Passerelle which new and existing buildings together.

As block development of the new building takes on the urban context and thus defines the urban space boundary west to Malstatter Street and north to the A620 motorway. The design of the building creates a communicative outdoor space with a garden terrace as a forum in South-east.
